Collection: Alphabetica Collection

Every letter has a story to tell.

Letters are the building blocks of language, but in Alphabetica they become the architecture of imagined worlds. The collection grew from my fascination with the shapes, meanings and associations we attach to the alphabet, transforming familiar letters into constructed photographic environments where scale, place and reality can shift.

As a photographic digital artist, my work has always involved bringing disparate visual elements together to create something that did not previously exist. Alphabetica continues that practice through a combination of my own photography of real-world objects, people, places and textures, imagery from my photographic archive, licensed stock material, digitally created components and selected AI-generated elements.

These source elements are brought together through an extensive process of selection, manipulation, compositing, colour work and detailed finishing to create each final artwork. No single element defines the finished image; it is the construction and transformation of those elements that creates the world of Alphabetica.

The collection also reflects the evolution of photographic image-making itself. Having worked through the transition from analogue photography to digital capture, Photoshop and now emerging generative technologies, I see these tools as part of an expanding creative vocabulary. Within Alphabetica, AI is used selectively as one component of the process, alongside photography and other established digital techniques, rather than as a replacement for them.

At its heart, Alphabetica is still about the image: the idea, the construction, the unexpected relationships between objects and places, and the stories a viewer might discover within them.

I hope the collection encourages curiosity and invites you to look a little longer — at the letters we see every day, the environments we inhabit, and the possibilities that emerge when the familiar is reconstructed into something new.

Welcome to Alphabetica. Look, interpret and find your own story within the images.

All artworks by Lisa Saad are produced as limited-edition fine-art photographic prints and framed canvas prints. Each work is professionally printed using archival-quality giclée printing processes with archival pigment inks on premium fine art paper or museum-grade canvas substrates to ensure exceptional longevity, colour stability and presentation quality.

All edition works are individually numbered and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. Edition details are noted on the artwork and/or accompanying documentation.

Lisa Saad’s photographic digital art practice combines original photography and imagery from her extensive photographic archive with appropriately licensed source material, digitally created elements and, where relevant, selected emerging technologies. Adobe Photoshop remains the primary environment in which these elements are extensively manipulated, reconstructed, composited and refined to create the final artworks.
